I had a set of thin washers at each of the 6bolts under the disc... also worked and not $16

I have a question what is your opinion on arrow bars on your gravel bike Do you have any in mind or any that you would recommend?

when I bought my first dropbar bike last year, i went for a 1by gravel bike. GRX with 40t in front and 11-42 in the back. this spring I got a new wheel set for road and now im mainly driving on tarmac. I watched your videos about converting the grx to fit a 11-46 cassette. the plan is to go with a 46t chainring a with the 11-46 cassette. then I have the same jumps as in my 11-42 cassette. only the last jump is bigger. but here in northern Germany its really flat so its only an emergency gear and should be fine. the 2t jumps are still to big sometimes but should be fine for now.

What's your thoughts about aluminum vs steel?

I think just because of 12 sped chain - it somehow works on video. narrower chain gives larger gap between sprockets and it didn`t make noise of friction.

I tried to migrate from GRX600 2x11 to GRX610 2x12. I bought 2x12 shifters, 12sp cassete and 12 sp chain. Rear derailleur GRX812 remained and it doesn`t work with 12sp shifters. 12sp shifters pull little bit more cable in 1 click. So if smallest sprocket works fine, - coming to the larger sprockets - chain starts to rub larger sprockets and needs to let loose the cable. After this - larger sprockets work fine but smaller work worse - needs to pull up the cable again.

Seems to be a bit of GENIUS hyper-inflation going on….

I just saw the first trial to delete the FS that failed in a race, don't remember the racer... But I remember when working at the shop and milling a similar part to adapt due to difference in diameter, how it failed at the first push due to the effect of 90° angles at the steps where diameter changes, never tough that could happen so easy, I hope the aluminum does not suffer that effect too... At that time we had to mill the piece with curved transition to avoid that fail

The suspension stem and seatpost have really made long rides so much more enjoyable. Great product and couldn't ride without these now.

does the 11-51 really weigh 600 grams???? are there no alternatives to this cassette? but really thank you for this mod. Also i am not sure if my calculations are correct but is a 1x 40t w/ 11-51 still higher compared to a 2x 46/30 w/ 11-40? I am currently using a 2x setup (grx600) and was wondering if going 1x is better for my case but even w/ this beefy cassette. I think it is still around the same weight for the groupset compared to 2x w/ less range and the lowest gear is not as low as 2x w/ 11-40. Is going 1by in the case just for the simplicity?

I'm trying to figure out why the rotor rubs on 2 different wheels. Do they have different hub or are the tolerances that far off? I had 2 sets of wheels for my fat bike, but I never had to adjust my caliper or rotors, just swap and go.

I can realign the brake disc more quickly, or get 10 aluminum washers from the hardware store for the brake disc

That is just like the local busses.but with no strap in the back. Always worked great for me. I use to take busses a lot.

I'm in the process of ordering a new wheelset now. After this.. all other wheelsets I order will use the same hubs. I'm hoping that will allow changes without adjustments. If needed I will also move over the same discs (and cassette) as that's quicker and easier than making adjustments

Great video. I live in a very hilly area and I'm not a power rider, can you advise what 1x setup would be good? I tend to now ride at a higher cadence with less power as I'm getting older and everything I had read pointed towards 2x for hills but the difference you showed seems minimal. I want to take it bikepacking too so easy gears are really important. Thanks.

Did you just weigh a shim? I'm a mountainbiker, slowly getting attracted to the road, but some things I'll never understand I'm afraid haha. Good tip though

I have QR, not thru-axle frame and fork, and I have rotor rubbing every time I swap a wheel but I stopped caring about it because its easier than to readjust my pads every time.

Looks like the shims aren't available on Amzn right now. Is there an alternate source, or dimensions?

1. Aim for thinner shims. You probably need less than you might guess. 2. Try a bearing (engineering) supply shop. You might get more choice and spend less than with online / bike stores.

My only hesitation is vibration coming through the grips. It doesn’t look like a suspension stem could be added. Am I wrong on that? If so I might get one.

If one wheel set is CenterLock and the other ISO 6 bolt, and the Centerlock is already pushing the rotor outward farther, do you have to find 6 little shim washers for the ISO wheel? I assume so...

Excellent. Overcame this issue by filing a tiny fraction off inside of the disc rotor,bringing it a fraction closer to the hub..was not aware that split washers were available though.

World Tour teams have long been doing this for all their wheels. They have set standard size spacing for wheels and calipers to avoid rotor rubs. When swapping wheels.

I have this same issue on my rear second wheel only. I was just getting ready to search for some type of shim, so this is good timing. The Amazon seller must have been hammered with your video as when I looked, they were 3 weeks out from shipping, I found some through Boyd Cycling. Will have them Thursday.
